Wyoming Fine Arts Center
Summer Camp Program • Seasonal Position • 2 Openings
Monday–Friday • June 1 – August 7, 2026
About the Wyoming Fine Arts Center
For 30 years, the Wyoming Fine Arts Center has been a hub of connection, creativity, and belonging in our community. Our Summer Camp program runs 9 to 10 weeks each year and gives kids ages 5–14 a chance to explore music, visual art, theatre, dance, digital media, and more. Camp Administrators are central to making that experience run smoothly every single day.
The Role
We are hiring two Camp Administrators — one for the morning shift and one for the afternoon shift. This is not a flexible or interchangeable assignment; each Admin owns their half of the day. Camp Admins work directly with Camp Instructors and the Programs Manager to keep daily operations on track. They are the operational backbone of camp — handling logistics, supporting staff, communicating with parents, and making sure every camper has a safe, positive experience. Camp Admins report directly to the Executive Director.
Open Positions
Morning Camp Administrator
Hours: 7:45am–12:45pm, Monday–Friday. Responsible for opening camp, managing morning drop-off and taking attendance, following up on absent campers by contacting their families, overseeing morning sessions and morning recess, coordinating half-day pick-up during the lunch break, and transitioning campers into the lunch and afternoon period.
Afternoon Camp Administrator
Hours: 12:15–5:15pm, Monday–Friday. Responsible for managing afternoon drop-off and taking attendance, following up on absent campers by contacting their families, overseeing afternoon sessions and recess, coordinating end-of-day pick-up, and supervising late pick-up campers through 5:00pm as needed.
Compensation
$16.00 per hour. Seasonal position for the duration of the Summer Camp program.
Responsibilities
- Handle all pre-camp preparation and ongoing parent communication, including collecting waivers, preparing rosters, managing materials, sending weekly parent emails, and monitoring the camp inbox.
- Manage drop-off and pick-up procedures, ensuring all campers are accounted for. Manage camper attendance at the start of each shift; contact families of any camper who is absent and unaccounted for.
- Check in assistants, volunteers, and junior counselors at the start of each shift and assign them to the appropriate camps
- Coordinate substitute teachers when an instructor is absent, and communicate any coverage arrangements to the Programs Manager
- Track timecard completion for all camp staff during your shift and follow up to ensure timecards are submitted on time
- Provide direct operational support to Camp Instructors, handling logistics so they can focus on teaching. Oversee and support camp assistants and campers.
- Assist with supplies management, including keeping materials organized, tracking inventory, and flagging items that need to be reordered or replaced
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents during your shift. Call parents when camper behavior or a health concern requires it.
- Coordinate with camp instructors and staff to monitor camper behavior and apply behavior guidelines consistently. Supervise campers who need a quiet space to rest or de-escalate.
- Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and the Programs Manager
- Follow and enforce all camp safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Serve as a calm, positive presence and role model for campers and staff alike.
