The Opportunity

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to help shape and implement the organization’s marketing and communications strategy during an especially exciting period of growth and visibility.

In 2027, Pyramid Hill will celebrate its 30th anniversary, creating a significant opportunity to expand awareness, engage new audiences, and tell the story of the Park’s past, present, and future.

Working closely with organizational leadership and colleagues across departments, the Marketing & Communications Manager will help develop marketing priorities and lead the day-to-day execution of campaigns and communications highlighting Pyramid Hill’s sculpture collection, natural landscape, exhibitions and programs, special events, venue rentals, and visitor experiences.

The role works across digital, social media, email, web, print, advertising, public relations, and on-site communications. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller and strong project manager who enjoys both contributing ideas and bringing them to life.

About Pyramid Hill

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is a 470-acre sculpture park and museum in Hamilton, Ohio, just outside Cincinnati, with a mission “to bring people to art in nature.”

The Park combines monumental outdoor sculpture, indoor collections, rolling hills, forests, hiking trails, the iconic Pyramid House, and a diverse calendar of exhibitions, educational programs, community events, and visitor experiences.

Pyramid Hill also stewards Fortified Hill, a significant Indigenous earthwork and ceremonial site dating back approximately 2,000 years. The organization is committed to approaching the stewardship and interpretation of this important cultural site with respect and care.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Campaigns

  • Help shape and implement integrated seasonal and year-round marketing strategies designed to increase awareness, attendance, engagement, and participation across Pyramid Hill’s offerings.
  • Develop and execute campaigns across the website, social media, email, print, digital advertising, radio, television, billboards, community calendars, and other channels.
  • Manage the marketing calendar and coordinate messaging across exhibitions, programs, special events, general visitation, memberships, venue rentals, and other initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent application of Pyramid Hill’s brand, voice, and visual identity across public-facing communications.
  • Monitor the marketing budget and recommend creative, cost-effective approaches that maximize available resources.

Content, Digital & Social Media

  • Own Pyramid Hill’s digital presence, scale as needed across social platforms.
  • Create engaging social media content that highlights the park’s variety of offerings, including programming, art, nature, collections, general visits, and more.
  • Continue to engage our current audience and organically grow followership.
  • Participate in relevant trends, be creative, and explore how Pyramid Hill digital presence can reflect the park’s in-person experience.
  • Respond to positive and negative social media comments, balancing a respectful and informative tone.
  • Work with external creators to highlight select programs (Art Fair and the Pyramid Hill Lights)
  • Regularly update the park’s website with new content. Must have basic SEO and UX understanding.
  • Attend park events to take photo and video highlighting experiences at Pyramid Hill. Events include after hour and weekend events.
  • Edit photos in Adobe to be used across marketing projects.
  • Edit videos in Adobe to inspire park visits and program participation.

Communications & Public Relations

  • Keep park hours and information up to date across Google Business, Yelp, and park voicemail.
  • Write press releases, media pitches, announcements, marketing copy, and other external communications.
  • Find new and continue with current advertising opportunities in local print and digital publications.
  • Represent Pyramid Hill thoughtfully in communications involving culturally sensitive topics, including the stewardship and interpretation of Fortified Hill.
  • Collaborate with external content creators, photographers, videographers, and influencers when appropriate.

Design & Visitor Communications

  • Design or coordinate the production of marketing materials including program brochures, advertisements, signage, and other promotional materials.
  • Support Pyramid Hill’s established wayfinding system through the development of sculpture and plant identification, directional, and visitor-experience signage.
  • Edit photography and video using Adobe Creative Suite or comparable tools for use across marketing channels.
  • Partner with the Events team to promote weddings, corporate gatherings, celebrations, and other rental opportunities across Pyramid Hill’s distinctive venues and landscape.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Work across departments to gather information, identify stories, coordinate priorities, and translate the work of Pyramid Hill into compelling public-facing communications.
  • Manage marketing projects from concept through execution while collaborating closely with colleagues and leadership.
  • Hire, supervise, and mentor college interns as needed. Provide a valuable and productive experience to propel students forward in their respective careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of nonprofit and/or experience-based marketing. Candidates with experience in arts, nature, or nonprofit marketing are strongly encouraged
  • Experience overseeing marketing departments and projects preferred
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to maintain and grow digital presence across social media
  • Experience with donor databases (e.g., Salesforce/Veevart)
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and self-driven
  • Ability to attend evening and weekend events as scheduled
