ArtsConnect is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to enriching lives and strengthening community through the arts. Since 2012, ArtsConnect has provided accessible, high-quality arts education, creative experiences, and cultural programming for all ages throughout Springfield Township and the surrounding region.
Operating from the Springfield Township Arts Center and The Annex at The Grove, ArtsConnect offers classes, workshops, camps, exhibitions, public art initiatives, performances, and special events. Each year, ArtsConnect engages thousands of community members through arts education programs, public art experiences, and approximately 20 community arts events that celebrate creativity, connection, and civic pride.
With professionally equipped studios for visual arts, pottery, woodworking, blacksmithing, and performing arts, ArtsConnect is committed to making the arts accessible, welcoming, and impactful for learners of all ages.
Position Purpose
The Adult Program Manager develops, coordinates, and oversees a year-round arts education program serving adults and seniors. This position works closely with instructors, students, volunteers, and community partners to create engaging arts experiences that promote lifelong learning and creative exploration.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and manage a diverse schedule of adult and senior arts classes, workshops, and special programs.
- Recruit, train, support, and evaluate contract instructors and volunteers.
- Facilitate contracts, background checks and instructor payments.
- Coordinate Senior Lunch & Learn programs with community partnerships.
- Oversee private music lessons, recitals, open studios and private art workshops.
- Support operations of the woodworking and blacksmithing studios, including safety and equipment management.
- Develop class descriptions, pricing, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor enrollment, program quality, program supplies, attendance records, and participant feedback.
- Represent ArtsConnect professionally within the community and assist with public events, exhibitions, performances, and organizational initiatives as needed.
- Locate class substitute instructors / Adjust instructor and Substitute Payouts
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with adult students regarding schedules, experiences, behavioral concerns, and program updates.
- Assist with marketing and community outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with staff on facility scheduling, special events, and new program initiatives.
Qualifications
- College degree or minimum of two years professional experience in arts education, arts administration, programming, or a related field.
- Teaching experience and supervisory or administrative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of visual arts programming and community-based arts education.
- Experience with woodworking equipment is desirable.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Hours
- 40 hours, with a requirement of evening and daytime weekly hours
- The Art Center is open 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Compensation
$23–$27/hour Depending on Qualifications
