About the Wyoming Fine Arts Center

For 30 years, the Wyoming Fine Arts Center has been a hub of connection, creativity, and belonging in our community. Our mission is to educate, create experiences, and nurture appreciation in music and the creative and performing arts across all ages, races, abilities, and backgrounds. Our Summer Camp program—running 9 to 10 weeks each year—gives kids a space to grow their artistic, writing, and language skills through collaboration, innovation, and hands-on learning.

Position Overview

Camp Assistants work directly with Camp Instructors to create a safe, inclusive, and enriching experience for campers. This is a hands-on role that requires reliability, a genuine love of working with kids, and a team-first attitude. Camp Assistants report to the Executive Director and take daily direction from Camp Administrators and Instructors.

  • Supervise campers during breaks, lunch, recess, and transitions between spaces
  • Assist with drop-off and pick-up procedures, ensuring campers are accounted for at all times
  • Lead or assist in moving camper groups between rooms, organizing single-file lines with one assistant at the front and one at the rear
  • Monitor camper behavior and apply camp rules consistently and calmly
  • Step in to support the Camp Instructor when they need to step away
  • Keep activity spaces clean and organized throughout the day
  • Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns to the Camp Admin or Instructor immediately
  • Follow all safety policies and emergency procedures
  • Serve as a positive role model in attitude, language, and conduct

  • Afternoon shift: 12:30–4:30pm
  • All-day shift: 8:30am–4:30pm

Early drop-off coverage (from 7:45am) and late pick-up coverage (until around 5:00pm) may also be part of your schedule. Scheduling is determined by the Office & Facilities Admin.

  • Enthusiasm for the arts and creative learning
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the start of camp)
