Job Overview

We are a recreational studio seeking a passionate and dedicated dance Teacher to join our exciting team within the next 2 weeks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ballet, tap, jazz, and possess the ability to educate and inspire students of all ages and abilities. This role involves creating age/level appropriate lesson plans, manage classroom dynamics, and foster a love for dance in each student in a safe and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

  • State driver’s license and own means of transportation
  • Hold high school diploma or G.E.D. minimum
  • Willing to have a full background check, drug screening; if/when requested.
  • Experience and ability to work with students of all ages; children, adults, ad seniors.
  • Develop own comprehensive lesson plans and appropriate choreography for the age/skill level of students with the ability to adapt and change based on student ability.
  • Instruct students in the dance forms/styles of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz ensuring proper technique taught.
  • Create a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a focused atmosphere with positivity and energy, and the ability to follow studio disciplinary actions.
  • Organize and prepare students for demonstrations/performances, showcasing their skills and progress.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to enhance overall curriculum and student experience.

Skills

  • Strong background in dance. Multiple and/or various forms/styles of dance ; not limited to what is listed a bonus.
  • Experience teaching to students of varying age/skill level.
  • Knowledge of early childhood and/or special education principles is a plus.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Additional skills such as sewing for costume preparation, stage managing, proficient in multiple/various languages; not limited to, ASL, Spanish, etc.
