FotoFocus is seeking dependable individuals who value customer service and safety for the position of Gallery Attendant. Gallery Attendant at FotoFocus Center is a part-time, hourly role (averaging 22 hours/week) responsible for maintaining the safety and security of guests, staff, and the FotoFocus Center’s galleries and property. This position involves monitoring and patrolling the facility, enforcing security protocols, responding to emergencies, and providing exceptional customer service while providing a safe and welcoming environment. This position will be required to walk and move about locations on foot, and work will include periods of standing, sitting, and use of stairs as needed. May be required to lift and/or move items of moderate weight as needed.

 

General work hours are Thursday through Saturday, 10am–6pm. Additional hours may be available depending on the times and dates of scheduled events.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the FotoFocus Center galleries and grounds
  • Assist visitors with directions, information, and emergency situations as needed
  • Take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of individuals and artworks
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents such as medical emergencies, fires, or security threats, enforce FotoFocus security policies and procedures
  • Work closely with other staff to assist in contractor and vendor load-ins/outs and shipments. Coordinate effectively with other staff to solve problems.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in security or a related field
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Present a professional and approachable demeanor with employees and guests
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, especially during emergencies
  • Ability to move briskly, climb ladders, and respond quickly to emergencies
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 lbs
  • Must be flexible with hours, including some nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as have reliable transportation to and from FotoFocus Center

 

Competitive hourly wage starting at $17/hour
