Cincinnati Fringe Festival “Fringe-tern” 2026
The Cincinnati Fringe Festival (“Cincy Fringe”) is seeking a Fringe Festival Intern (“Fringe-tern”) to join the Fringe team.
What is Cincy Fringe?
A 14-day celebration of theatre, art, music, dance, and everything between — it’s Cincinnati’s Summer Theatre Party! Heading into our 23rd year, the Cincy Fringe (as it’s succinctly known) presents over 150 performances of 35+ theatre productions during the first two weeks of June, plus free Late Night programming every night of the festival at Fringe Headquarters – the Know Theatre.
Seeking:
- Enthusiastic and hard-working individual who knows how to take initiative and is
- interested in being a part of the behind-the-scenes action of a two-week performing arts
- festival
- Excellent people skills
- Social Media knowledge (to aid in the Cincy Fringe social media posts)
- Canva experience
Length of Contract:
- Be available in the days leading up to the festival, May 26, 27, 28, and for most of Cincy Fringe Festival May 29–June 13, 2026.
- Possible hours: Tuesday – Friday, 4 PM – 10 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, noon – 10PM.
- The Fringe-tern is not expected to be at the festival for all hours, but we request availability to schedule the Fringe-tern for most days of the festival. Some conflicts during this time do not automatically exclude someone from the Fringe-ternship – we will work with your schedule.
Assignments:
- Assist all primary Cincy Fringe Staff in the day-to-day operations of the festival. Some specific assigned duties will depend on the Fringe-tern’s skills and interests.
- Providing house management support at Gabriel’s Corner (our venue located at Sycamore Street and Liberty Street): aiding the venue technician, box officer, and coordinating volunteers, making the preshow speech and ensuring the shows start on-time.
- Create signage for Late Night series
- Social Media coverage and postings
- Possible off-site festival promotions
- Assigned duties may include tasks usually assigned to community volunteers, including light tidying of Fringe headquarters, ticket-taking, or couriering people or items from one venue to another, pre-show speeches and nightly news involvement.
- Maintain professionalism as a representative of the Cincy Fringe Festival at all times.
- Undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities as requested by the Cincy Fringe Staff.
What the Fringetern will receive:
- $1,000 paid stipend
- An opportunity to observe and participate in the internal administrative workings of a 35+ show, 150+ performance festival, including artist relations, patron services, and marketing.
- Chances to network with local and visiting Fringe artists.
- A staff uniform t-shirt and a staff parking pass (not guaranteed parking) for the dates of the festival.
- A staff festival pass, which allows free entry to shows at the festival (as schedule allows) and discounts at the Fringe bar (if 21 and older).
- The Fringe-tern will be expected to read the Know Theatre Employee Handbook and commit to its policies of conduct in the workplace.
