Location: Cincinnati, OH
Position Type: Part-Time, 1099 Contractor
Contract Length and Terms: 6 months, 10-15 hours/week, flexible schedule with some nights/weekends for show coverage)
Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager
Compensation: $20-25 per hour, commensurate with experience

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and digitally-savvy Marketing Associate to join our small team. You will share the responsibility for translating the energy of our live productions into compelling online content that drives ticket sales and community engagement. This is a hands-on role ideal for a marketing student, a creative freelancer, or an arts enthusiast with the right technical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Design eye-catching digital assets for promotions, newsletters, and web using Canva. (Experience with Adobe Photoshop is a significant plus for advanced image editing and custom artwork).
- Digital Outreach: List and manage our performances on local community calendars, event websites (like FB Events), and arts council listings.
- Email Marketing: Assist with building, designing, and sending regular audience newsletters and promotional blasts using Mailchimp.
- Administrative Support: Update website content, maintain organized digital files, and assist with tracking basic marketing metrics using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).
- On-Site Engagement: Capture photo/video content or edit video from tech rehearsals and select performances (schedule flexible).
- Social Media Management: Brainstorm and help execute a content calendar across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube). Create engaging posts, including graphics, short videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and audience interactions.
Who You Are:
- A self-starter who can manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- A strong visual storyteller with an eye for design and detail.
- Passionate about the arts, especially theatre, and have an understanding of our local urban community.
- An effective communicator who can maintain our theatre’s voice—authentic, intriguing, and welcoming.
- Proactive in suggesting new ideas to reach broader audiences.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience creating and scheduling social media content for an organization or brand.
- High proficiency in Canva for graphic design.
- Basic video editing skills (Edits, CapCut, iMovie, Premiere Rush).
- High proficiency with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Mailchimp.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely and independently, with reliable internet and computer access.
Preferred “Plus” Skills:
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop for advanced image editing.
- Familiarity with WordPress.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit or arts organization.
- Knowledge of the Cincinnati arts and media landscape.
