Position Summary
The Holocaust & Humanity Center (HHC) seeks a strategic, collaborative Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications to lead the organization’s marketing and communications vision. This role is responsible for developing and executing high-level strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and revenue across exhibitions, education programs, events, and fee-for-service offerings.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic External Engagement, the Senior Manager oversees and executes external marketing and communications efforts and directly manages a Marketing Associate who executes day-to-day social media and outreach work.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications Strategy
- Develop and lead an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with HHC’s mission and institutional goals.
- Set annual and campaign-based marketing priorities for exhibitions, programs, education initiatives, events, and earned-revenue offerings.
- Serve as steward of HHC’s brand, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all external channels.
- Partner with the Director of Strategic External Engagement to shape institutional messaging and public-facing narratives.
Content & Campaign Oversight
- Oversee and implement content strategy across email, website, print, social media, and other platforms in partnership with the Marketing Associate under the direction of the Director of Strategic External Engagement
- Provide editorial direction, review, and final approval for major marketing and communications materials.
- Guide messaging for exhibitions, public programs, education initiatives, and special events.
- Ensure campaigns are executed on time and evaluated for effectiveness.
Outreach, Partnerships & Fee-for-Service Marketing
- Lead marketing strategy for fee-for-service offerings such as trainings and workshops.
- Support outreach and relationship-building with corporate and community partners.
- Represent HHC at select community events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise, mentor, and support the Marketing Associate, providing clear priorities, feedback, and professional development.
- Supervise a part-time Weekend Museum Ambassador
- Coordinate with Education, Engagement, Development, and Visitor Experience teams to ensure alignment in messaging and outreach.
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies in collaboration with the Director of Strategic External Engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
