
The Art Academy of Cincinnati
The Art Academy of Cincinnati is hiring a contracted Teaching Assistant for Saturday Morning Art Classes (SMAC), which are a collaboration between the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Classes are for 9-12-year-olds and occur each Saturday from 10 AM-12 PM at the CAM.
We are hiring three assistants—one for each below period:
- October-November
- January-February
- March-May
We are currently most focused on hiring a Teaching Assistant for the October-November period, but please apply for any period and indicate your availability in your application.
Location: Cincinnati Art Museum
Pay: $15/hour
The individuals in this position will work every Saturday from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM during their contracted period. They also must attend one paid two-hour meeting before their role begins.
Responsibilities
- Support the classroom instructor by assisting with weekly responsibilities
- Supervise student learning, behavior, safety, and well-being in a professional and friendly manner
- Uphold the student code of conduct and classroom rules through various methods
- Manage bathroom breaks and monitor classroom attendance
- Keep thorough records of attendance and classroom incidents
- Manage studio supplies, student access to materials, and classroom/studio organization
- Clean studios and classrooms regularly while teaching students classroom-cleaning methods
- Encourage and celebrate student learning and participation in the classroom
- Help lead all art assignments collaboratively with the instructor
- Ensure students are well-behaved and engaged when viewing artwork in the galleries
Experience and Skills Required
Applicants must have related experience, such as teaching/classroom management experience and/or experience working with children.
Compensation and Benefits
- $15/hr
- Free parking during work shifts
