Choral Collaborative Pianist

Viva Voices Choral Organization seeks to hire a collaborative pianist for its Children’s Choir, Youth Chorus, and Youth Chamber Choir.

Position Summary
The Piano Accompanist for the Viva Voices Children’s Choir, Youth Chorus, and Youth Chamber Choir serves as a collaborative artist, supporting rehearsals and performances with musical excellence, professionalism, and flexibility. This individual plays a vital role in shaping the artistic quality of all three ensembles and works closely with the Artistic Directors to prepare engaging and polished performances.

Primary Responsibilities
-Provide piano accompaniment for all scheduled rehearsals and performances of the Children’s Choir, Youth Chorus, Youth Chamber Choir
-Collaborate with the Artistic Directors in preparing repertoire, including learning scores in advance and adapting to artistic direction
-Assist with sectional rehearsals as needed
-Demonstrate strong sight-reading skills and the ability to adapt quickly during rehearsals
-Support efficient rehearsal pacing by anticipating musical needs and transitions
-Attend dress rehearsals, concerts, and any additional required events

Time Commitment
-Weekly rehearsals on a 10-week semester schedule (fall semester and spring semester)
-Dress rehearsals and performances throughout the season
-Additional preparation time outside of scheduled rehearsals

The Viva Voices Children’s Choir rehearses on Thursdays, 4:30-6:00 p.m.  The Viva Voices Youth Chorus and Youth Chamber Choir rehearse on Sundays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. All rehearsals are held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lakeside Park, KY.
