The Production Technician is a trained technician able to operate 3 axis CNC machines and 3D Printers. They are required to have a good overall mechanical and technical knowledge, while specializing in details of manufacturing equipment operations and maintenance. They need to be self-motivated to not only tackle the immediate tasks, but also be able to forecast tasks several steps down the process. A high quality level of assembly and finish is required and should be expected.
Responsibilities and Duties
– Ability to read and understand technical drawings and assembly instructions.
– Understanding of CNC operations and processes.
– Familiarity with basic G-code, machine tooling, material handling, and machine setup.
– Experience with precision measuring tools preferred i.e. calipers and micrometers.
– Practical experience with 3D printing regarding slicing software, materials utilized, supports required, and post processing.
– Interest in specialty manufacturing, prototyping, and small-batch production, especially learning advanced printing techniques and materials
– Communicate with the Craftsmen, Project Managers, and Production Engineer about the fabrication processes on each project.
– Maintain tools and equipment to insure their viability. Maintain a clean and organized studio space.
– Utilize and maintain safety equipment needed within the Studio to insure a safe and comfortable work environment for the team.
– Proficiency with CAD software (Inventor Preferred but anything Autodesk related), comfortable working with digital files in CAM and slicing software. – General computer skills for job tracking, documentation and machine interface
– Ability to work at heights, lift 50lbs., stand for long durations, bend/squat.
Qualifications
– High School diploma required, Bachelors degree suggested
– 2 years of experience in a similar position.
– Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in custom fabrication.
– Willing to learn and adapt as the Studio adapts to the size, scope, and style of the projects it undertakes.
– Friendly disposition and able to maintain a calm personality in a team environment.
– Self motivated to organize and complete their own tasks.
– Willingness to jump in, learn new skills, and help as needed throughout the entire Studio.
– PTO, health, and retirement benefits after 90 days
– 4 day work week, M-Th 7a- 5:30p
– Starting pay $18- $25/ hr depending on experience
