ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

The Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to building a stronger community through creativity and connection. Our new home in the heart of Uptown Cincinnati hosts classes, concerts, exhibitions, performances, and community events year-round. This 18,000 sq ft building includes two galleries, classrooms, an auditorium, meeting space, and an occupiable green rooftop.

 

OPPORTUNITY:

CCAC is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial individual who is committed to the arts and community building to join our team as the Venue Rentals and Bar Manager, helping us expand earned revenue while ensuring smooth, memorable experiences for all who rent or attend events in our space.

 

The Venue Rentals and Bar Manager oversees all aspects of facility rentals and in-house bar operations at CCAC. This role is responsible for marketing and booking private, corporate, educational, and performance rentals; managing client relationships; coordinating with internal staff and external vendors; and ensuring seamless execution of events. In addition, the Manager directs bar operations, including purchasing, inventory, staffing, and compliance.

 

NOTE: This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that requires flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays to oversee execution and coordination of scheduled events.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Venue Rentals

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all rental inquiries, tours, bookings, contracts, communications, and follow-up.
  • In partnership with Executive Director and marketing staff, promote CCAC’s rental spaces to diverse audiences (private clients, corporations, artists, community groups, and creative entrepreneurs).
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with rental clients, ensuring excellent customer service from inquiry through event completion and beyond.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics with other CCAC staff to balance external rentals with internal programming.
  • Coordinate with and supervise outside vendors (caterers, AV providers, etc.) to ensure compliance with CCAC’s policies and a smooth rental experience.
  • Manage and regularly update CCAC’s rental policies, pricing, and contracts; track financials and meet revenue goals.
  • Brainstorm and implement creative new uses for CCAC spaces to generate earned income.

 

Bar Management

  • Oversee all aspects of bar operations for rentals and CCAC-hosted events, including purchasing, inventory, management, and vendor relationships.
  • Hire, schedule, and manage as-needed bartenders or volunteers for events; provide training and ensure adherence to laws and CCAC’s standards.
  • Staff the bar for select events when appropriate.
  • Monitor setup and cleanliness of bar and catering services area, compliance with liquor laws, and safe service practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and inventory.

 

Administration & Collaboration

  • Work closely with CCAC leadership to set and achieve rental and bar revenue goals.
  • Track rental and bar performance metrics; prepare regular reports.
  • Contribute to the overall CCAC team environment, supporting colleagues during major events and community programs.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the success of CCAC’s mission.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in event management, venue rentals, hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of bar operations, inventory management, and compliance with alcohol service laws preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment.
  • Comfort with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Arts Administration, Business, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $40,000 – $45,000 annual salary + $200/month health benefits stipend
  • 13 paid holidays and 14 PTO days per year
  • Matching retirement contributions
