A note from our incoming chair, Rosemary Schlachter:

Thank you for being a member of ArtsWave’s Women’s Leadership Roundtable. Did you know this year is our tenth anniversary? I’m excited to chair the Roundtable Steering Committee as it enters its next decade with Vice Chair Jes Laine.

I’m a Cincinnati native and currently operate an anti-aging/wellness business and a fundraising and consulting service, 25th Hour–for when twenty-four hours are not enough. I’m also an active community volunteer for various arts organizations, including the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and Contemporary Arts Center. I have been a member of the Women’s Roundtable Steering Committee since its founding and have enjoyed a variety of events and experiences with many amazing women!

I’m pleased to share that 455 Roundtable members contributed over $1.2 million to the 2023 campaign, almost reaching our all-time high. I hope you will remain a member of the Roundtable and support past chair Lisa Sauer, who is co-chairing the 2024 ArtsWave Community Campaign with her husband, Jon Moeller.

We have an exciting year ahead! It was fun to see so many of you at our first event a few weeks ago, and the next is coming in November–read more about it below. I hope you will join us, and I look forward to meeting you in person throughout the year.

Love,
Rosemary

Septemberfest Recap

Red-Wavy-Line

Roundtable members and friends recently came together at a popcorn machine factory turned art mega-gallery, ADC Fine Art, for the first event of the 2023-24 season.

Litsa Spanos, founder of ADC, shared her journey as a Greek immigrant to starting one of the nation's top 2% women-owned businesses. Like you, Litsa is passionate about supporting local arts and believes in its power to transform and inspire.

Local art collectors also shared how they use art to bring joy and life into their homes. Check out the event photos, and we hope you join us at our next event!

Meet Our New Leadership

Rosemary Schlachter is a Cincinnati native, currently operates an anti-aging/wellness business and has worked as a fundraising consultant and development officer since 1980. An active community volunteer, Rosemary has served as President of the Cincinnati Symphony Association, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet, Contemporary Arts Center, United Way Foundation, Madcap Productions, and more. Her favorite volunteer role was chairing "To Irma With Love," (1987) a Tribute to Irma Lazarus in which Leonard Bernstein, Roberta Peters and other artists participated. A 1993 Cincinnati Enquirer Woman of the Year, and Association of Fundraising Professionals’ 2021 Philanthropist of the Year Award-winner, Schlachter lives in western Cincinnati with her husband, Mark, and has four children and grandchildren.

Jes Laine is thrilled to be the vice chair of the Women’s Leadership Roundtable after many years of serving on the committee. Jes thinks living in Cincinnati is lots of fun and enjoys the vibrant arts and food scene. She is a part owner of a mortgage group in Cincinnati and appreciates working in all of the region’s distinct neighborhoods. She is also a licensed real estate agent, ACE-certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist focusing on women’s health and wellness. An avid runner, Jes has run over 30 marathons and multiple longer ultra-distance races. When she is not training for a race, you can find her volunteering in the community, spending time with her family or adding to her impressive vintage clothing collection (she has over 100 vintage hats alone, so what is one more?)
