FotoFocus is seeking energetic individuals who value customer service for the position of Visitor Experience Assistant. This position will serve as a public-facing member of the FotoFocus team in greeting guests at FotoFocus Center and throughout various programs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, punctual, and customer service-focused, helping to guarantee that guests feel welcomed and informed.

 

The Visitor Experience Assistant is a part-time position, scheduled 10–25 hours per week. Assistants will be required to walk and move about locations on foot, and work will include periods of standing, sitting, and use of stairs as needed. May be required to lift and/or move items of moderate weight as needed.

 

General work hours are Thursday and Friday, 11am-6pm and Saturday, 11am-5pm, while FotoFocus Center is open to the public. Must have flexibility to work on additional evening and weekend events.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to guests of FotoFocus Center
  • Tracking attendance and guest information
  • Being informed about FotoFocus history, current exhibitions, and programming
  • Facilitating merchandise and membership purchases, maintaining merchandise inventory
  • Keeping all Guest Experience locations clean and ready for guests
  • Support Events Manager and Outreach Manager with event logistics including assistance with set-up and tear-down, including moving tables, chairs, signage, podiums, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Present a professional and approachable demeanor with employees and guests
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, especially during emergencies
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, professionalism, and dependability
  • Can work both with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and Square
  • Evening and/or weekend availability
  • Occasional heavy lifting required
  • Prior office, receptionist, and/or events experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

 

Competitive hourly wage starting at $15/hour
