ArtsWave honored local arts leaders and set the stage for the future of Cincy's arts at its recent Annual Meeting. Let's dive into the highlights that have the arts community buzzing.

A Lifetime of Dedication: Jack Rouse
When it comes to Cincinnati's cultural landscape, few names shine as brightly as Jack Rouse. From founding CCM's Musical Theatre program to bringing live entertainment to Kings Island to board leadership at numerous arts organizations, Jack has been a driving force in our community for decades.

Now, ArtsWave has recognized his unwavering commitment by naming him a Life Trustee. It's a well-deserved honor for a man who's been instrumental in transforming ArtsWave itself from the Fine Arts Fund to the dynamic organization it is today.

Sachs Fund Prize: Honoring Innovation and Impact
The Rosa F. and Samuel B. Sachs Fund Prize honors outstanding artistic accomplishments and contributions to the cultural life of the Cincinnati Region. At the Annual Meeting, it was awarded to two arts leaders overseeing rejuvenation projects in Cincinnati's urban core.

Kim Kern, President & CEO of The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT), is bringing her vision of a restored Emery Theater in Over-the-Rhine that will impact the neighborhood for years to come. Toilynn O'Neal Turner, CEO and Founder of the Robert O'Neal Multicultural Arts Center (ROMAC), is filling a gap in services for emerging artists in the West End. Both are adding to a broader vision of a thriving, inclusive neighborhood. The Sachs Fund Prize acknowledges their many contributions that have brought distinction to the Cincinnati region.

Looking Ahead: ArtsWave's Bold Initiatives
Beyond honoring accomplishments, ArtsWave's Annual Meeting also set the stage to shape the future of arts in Cincinnati. Some exciting updates include:
• Year two of the "More Arts, More Kids" program aims to send an additional 15,000 students on arts field trips.
• A new Creative Placemaking Partnership with meetNKY, which kicked off with a stunning mural by internationally renowned artist Maya Hayuk.
• The launch of the ArtsWave App, powered by Cincy A&E, which has already seen over 7,000 downloads since its October 1 debut.

As we celebrate these achievements and look forward to the future, it's clear that Cincinnati's arts scene is more vibrant than ever. With leaders like Jack Rouse, Kim Kern and Toilynn O'Neal Turner at the helm, and ArtsWave's innovative initiatives, our region's cultural landscape is set to shine even brighter in the years to come.
