Position Summary

The Associate Producer is a part-time position of 20 hours per week that supports the planning, production, and successful execution of Fitton Stage Academy performances in the Fitton Family Theater. This role works closely with administrative staff, production teams, parents/guardians, and performers to ensure high-quality, engaging theatrical experiences for young audiences and their families.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in programming, planning, and coordinating theater productions from pre-production through closing.
• Manage production schedules, budgets, and administrative documentation.
• Coordinate rehearsals, auditions, and production meetings.
• Opportunity to hire qualified directors as well as direct productions.
• Serve as a liaison between directors, designers, cast, crew, educators, and venue staff.
• Help oversee production logistics, including costumes, props, sets, and technical requirements.
• Support marketing and audience development initiatives by collaborating with communications and outreach teams.
• Ensure productions comply with safety standards, child protection policies, and applicable regulations.
• Provide on-site production support during performances and special events.
• Contribute to grant reporting, sponsorship fulfillment, and donor recognition activities as needed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Arts Administration, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–4 years of experience in theater production, stage management, arts administration, or event coordination.
• Experience working with children, youth programming, or family entertainment is preferred.
• Strong organizational, project management, budgeting, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software; familiarity with ticketing or production management systems is a plus.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by production schedules.

Preferred Skills
• A teaching-first approach and a strong knowledge of children’s theater programming and production.
• Comfort working within approved budgets and finding practical, creative uses for available resources.
• Basic understanding of stage lighting, sound, and production operations.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.

Working Conditions
• Combination of office, rehearsal, and theater environments.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and moving production materials.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends during productions.

They excel at coordinating multiple projects while fostering positive relationships with artists, educators, volunteers, and staff.
