ArtsWave awarded 17 Catalyzing Impact grants this fall, investing $110,675 in arts and cultural institutions throughout the Greater Cincinnati region. Catalyzing Impact grants support a variety of arts programming and cultural heritage projects that align with the goals of ArtsWave's Blueprint for Collective Action

ArtsWave is proud to recognize the following grant recipients:

Cincinnati Soundbox- awarded $2,210 to support the New Concerto Project, a night of world premieres for soloists and orchestra featuring four rising female composers.

City Gospel Mission- awarded $11,250 to support the Princess Ballet Program, a free ballet program led by professional dancers for girls from low-income families.

Clermont Festival Chorale- awarded $4,900 to support "And the Poet Sings," a choral concert exploring the work of European and American poets.

Dramakinetics of Cincinnati- awarded $4,000 to support Building Character, a collaboration with Winners Walk Tall to create lesson plans that combine character education with creative dramatics as a tool to build social emotional strength in children.
 
Educational Theatre Association- awarded $9,175 to support The Jumpstart Theatre Research Project, an initiative to create a middle school musical theater program at Felicity Franklin Middle School in rural Clermont County.

Learning Through Art, Inc.- awarded $3,750 to support Books Alive! for Kids Training Videos, free online learning resources for teachers and parents to fuel creativity and learning through literacy and art.

Memorial Hall Operations, LLC- awarded $11,250 to support the first Family Theatrical Series, a series of six free, family-friendly programs at Memorial Hall in Over-the-Rhine.

New Edgecliff Theatre- awarded $6,000 to support a production of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie," featuring an all African American cast.

Peaslee Neighborhood Center- awarded $8,250 to support Engaging Change, a community engagement mural project highlighting social justice work in Cincinnati.

Pones, Inc.- awarded $9,750 to support "ReNewed Colossus," a collaboration between local artists, immigrants, and refugees to create artistic representations of immigrant stories that will be featured at the 2017 Fringe Festival.

Showbiz Players, Inc.- awarded $4,500 to support the 30th and farewell season of the Showbiz Players, featuring the production of "The Civil War," a musical based on letters and speeches by President Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, soldiers, and the enslaved.

St. John's Unitarian Universalist Church- awarded $2,490 to support Jazz and Justice, a series of jazz concerts seeking to build hope and community through meaningful conversations around racial injustice.

The Mercantile Library- awarded $7,500 to support the Signature Event Series, a series of literary guest speakers on topics ranging from history to literature to modern-day urban issues presented in a fun socialization format for young professionals.

Tristate Veterans Community Alliance- awarded $6,000 to support Veteran Reflections, a series of four storytelling nights featuring veterans sharing their story with the Greater Cincinnati community.

WNKU- awarded $7,500 to support Community Stories, a weekly public radio and podcast series throughout 2017 featuring stories unique to the Cincinnati region.
