Arts-on-the-Hill

Twice a month, we're showcasing the region's arts through ArtsWave Days, brought to you by Macy’s. It's all free as part of the 2019 ArtsWave Community Campaign, which runs through April 30. The third of six ArtsWave Days, Arts on the Hill, is tomorrow! Join us Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cincinnati Art Museum — then catch a free performance at 4 p.m. at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

It's opening weekend for "Paris 1900" at the Cincinnati Art Museum. In support of the ArtsWave Campaign, museum is offering free admission to the special exhibition! While the gallery is open, you can enjoy an array of "Bonjour & More" performances throughout the museum. Allegro Ensemble will perform French compositions in honor of the exhibition. Flying Cloud Vintage Dance Academy will teach audiences to dance in the fashion of Paris at the turn of the century.

Cincinnati Baila! will perform dances from the time when Mexico was being formed as a nation. Queen City Opera will take the stage with a teaser performance of their upcoming production, "The Magic Bullets (Der Freischütz)." As if that weren't enough, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will offer a free Preview Performance of August Wilson's "Two Trains Running" at 4 p.m.! Tickets are free, but call the box office at 513-421-3888 to reserve your spot!

Arts on the Hill is coming hot on the heels of the successful Freedom Celebration. Nearly 3,000 visitors came to the National Underground Freedom Center last Saturday. They experienced powerful performances, storytelling and more, all in celebration of Black History Month and the arts.
