ArtsWave is revolutionizing arts engagement with the new ArtsWave App. Launched on October 1, 2024, the app represents more than just a technological upgrade — it's a strategic move to foster a more vibrant regional economy and connected community through the arts. While the tactic is new, the strategy has been ArtsWave's mission for nearly a century.

The free app's main offering is a customizable calendar powered by an expanded, comprehensive arts and entertainment calendar, Cincy A&E. Users can explore regional events, create shareable itineraries, and easily sort to find their next local adventure. Even more, ArtsWave Pass Members, and non-members through a “Give and Go” donation program, can access discounted, free and last-minute tickets, and even retail and dining deals, making it easier to connect with fellow arts-goers.

The app is also connecting those arts-goers to art-creators, through behind-the-scenes content, beginning with the “BLINK Insider”. Available instantly to all ArtsWave Pass Members (and to non-members for a small in-app donation), the content provides deeper insights into Cincinnati's iconic light and art festival, with new content added regularly to feature more of Cincy’s arts and entertainment options.

For nearly 100 years, ArtsWave's funding has built an enviable local arts ecosystem. Still, arts organizations here face systemic challenges just like they do across the country. The app addresses a critical pain point through a one-stop digital solution to filling unsold seats. Partnering with arts organizations to distribute half-price, last-minute and even free tickets through the app, ArtsWave is helping them maximize their reach and revenue. We’re also introducing a new way for the public to provide incremental support for the arts; each in-app donation will be invested through the annual ArtsWave Community Campaign.

Although Cincinnati ranks among the top 20 most arts-vibrant regions in the U.S., at-home, individualized and disconnected entertainment options are capturing more of our time and budget each year. However, these options don't build community like in-person, shared experiences. According to a University of Pennsylvania study, 91% reported making new friends as a result of arts participation. When was the last time you made new friends by streaming a show in your living room?

The ArtsWave App is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Create your in-app account prior to October 17, 2024 to take full advantage of the BLINK Insider.
