Make Art to Support the Arts: A Call to Artists

This year, Cincinnati-based paper retailer M. Hopple & Co. will be hosting their Eleventh Annual CityArt Holiday Card Contest. Every year, M. Hopple & Co. calls for artists all over the region to submit their designs for a collection of holiday-inspired cards to be sold as part of the CityArt Holiday Card Collection. A portion of the proceeds go toward a chosen nonprofit. With this year’s theme of “Arts for the Holidays,” ArtsWave was a natural fit.
The
call to artists has now been released to anyone who would like to participate. Local artists are asked to produce work that displays art venues or performances, capturing the unique spirit of the holiday season in our communities. Winners will be selected based not just on overall quality, but on how well the submission fits the theme, how appealing the work will be to the population of the Cincinnati region and how well it would reproduce as a greeting card.
Three lucky and talented artists will have their art printed on greeting cards that will be sold by M. Hopple & Co. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges on September 15 and will receive a framed print of their work, as well as 25 copies of their holiday card. You can find more details, deadlines and an application to submit your art at the
M. Hopple & Co. website.
